Chris has over 20 years’ experience in financial and investment markets.
Before moving into financial planning, he spent a decade working in senior investment roles with a global investment company listed on the New York Stock Exchange and also in the funds management division of one of the major banks. This experience managing large equity and property portfolios has given him a deep understanding of how investment markets operate.
In 2004, Chris established a financial planning practice, which he operated for five years before selling to a national financial planning group. In recent years he has undertaken contract and consultancy roles with Perpetual Private Wealth in Melbourne and with Wheeler Financial Services in Geelong.
Chris is a highly analytical thinker with a proven ability to think outside the square and implement strategies that add value for clients. Extensive academic credentials, including an Economics degree, an MBA and several postgraduate financial qualifications, underpin his detailed knowledge and strong technical skills.
Chris is an accredited SMSF specialist and has a detailed understanding of superannuation legislation and the various strategies available. He is one of only a small group of advisors who have a postgraduate university qualification in SMSFs, which he gained through The University of Adelaide.
Chris specialises in Self-Managed Superannuation Funds, superannuation strategies, investment advice, direct shares, property investment and estate planning. He sees himself as a ‘Financial Coach’ and his approach is to educate and guide his clients to ensure that they get the most out of their superannuation whilst avoiding the costly mistakes that many investors make.
Chris is a staunch advocate for ethical, independent advice and the use of transparent flat fees. It is upon these principles that he has built Super Focus.
